Doug Probst President & Co-founder of Handshake America,
Former CFO at DSW Inc.
Doug co-founded and created Handshake America in Columbus, Ohio in 2011 along with his peers and fellow DSW Inc. (Designer Shoe Warehouse) executives, Roger Rawlins and Bill Jordan. In 2014 Doug retired as CFO of DSW Inc. to focus his energy on the growth and development of Handshake America. Doug and his wife Patty have three grown children and moved to Georgia in 2016 where he lead the launch of Handshake-Atlanta one year later. He has been a Handshake Coach in Columbus, Atlanta and Western Carolina covering twelve student-athletes.
Beth Murphy
VP, Assistant General Counsel, Assistant Secretary at Grange Insurance
Beth joined the Handshake America Board in 2019 and is completing her first year as a Handshake Coach in Columbus. At Grange Insurance Company, Beth focuses on legal and regulatory compliance, corporate governance, and litigation. Beth has been involved in the Columbus community by serving on several non-profit boards and industry trade associations. Beth lives in Worthington with her husband Bart and their two teenage daughters.

Hyman Albritton

Hyman's primary experience is in the human resource arena, and he currently owns and operates Genesis Consulting. Hyman and his wife have two children - one a recent grad from Wake Forest, and one at the University of Miami, FL. He has been a valuable advisor for Handshake since the beginning, was a Handshake Coach for three years, and previously sat on the Handshake- Columbus Advisory Board.
David Probst
Founder & EVP at Conterra Holdings
David joined the Handshake America Board in 2019 and has been a coach for six years. As a partner in Conterra Holdings, David focuses on capital management and general corporate management. David is involved in the Columbus community and is currently on the Dublin Methodist Hospital Development Board. David lives in Dublin with his wife, Cindy, and has three grown children.
Cam Murphy
Area Vice President – Columbus Market Leader at Gallagher
Cam leads the property and casualty team for Arthur J. Gallagher for the Columbus marketplace. Cam spends ample time coaching and mentoring the young sales talent within Gallagher. He is actively involved in the Gallagher Summer Internship Program for college students, and the Gallagher Career Associate Program for post graduate hires. In his free time, Cam enjoys playing golf, watching the Cincinnati Bengals and Kentucky Wildcats, and spending time with his family and friends.
Rick Jackson Chairman of Handshake America, Former EVP of Logistics Services at L Brands
Rick and his wife, Penny, have three grown children including Travis, who contributes as a Handshake Coach. Rick and Penny have contributed significantly since 2015 by being Scholarship Sponsors for Handshake students. Recently they created The William Fawley PASSION Memorial Award, in honor of Penny’s father. The award is given to the student who personifies the important practice of pursuing your passion in the face of adversity just as William did.
Ron Ransom
Chief Business Development Officer at Envestnet, Inc
Ron served as a Handshake Coach in Columbus for four years and also contributes as a host, facilitator and sponsor. Ron and his wife, Robyn, have two young children and live in the Columbus area. Ron’s passion for excellence and bringing the best out of the students is a natural fit for Handshake America.

Chris Lanning Vice Chairman of Handshake America, President of Retail at Apricot Lane Boutique
Chris is currently President of Retail, Apricot Lane Boutique, the leading women's fashion boutique Franchise. Chris and his wife Judy have two grown daughters and reside in the Columbus, OH area. Chris provided counsel during the early years of Handshake and helped launch Handshake Atlanta. In addition to Handshake, Chris serves on the Advisory Board for 3-Strands International and most recently held a Board role with Blood:Water.
